HELD A VISITING LECTURER, ISLAMIC BANKING STUDY PROGRAM INVITED ACADEMICS FROM USIM MALAYSIA

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Islamic Banking Study Program held a visiting lecturer with the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Malaysia.  This activity is a follow up of the MoU between the two institutions in the field of education and teaching. The Islamic Banking Study Program presented Dr. Wan Nur Fazni Binti Wan Mohamad Nazarie, an expert in the field of marketing with the topic Customer Value-Driven Marketing Strategy: Creating Value for Target Customers. Dr. Faz, as she is usually called, explained the importance of companies understanding and developing marketing strategies based on customer value and how companies must do segmenting, targeting, and positioning. This is needed to be able to win a very competitive competition. She also gave interesting examples so that students of Islamic banking study programs were very enthusiastic listening to the topic presented. The event lasted for two hours and ended with an assignment, students having to make videos on social media regarding product promotion.

The Head of the Islamic Banking Department, Dr. Yayuk Sri Rahayu as well as the lecturer in marketing course highly appreciates this activity and believes that this activity can add to the knowledge and insight of students, as well as the experience of students studying with lecturers from overseas campuses. She considered that this activity could be continued with other topics and lecturers from the economics faculty of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim could also teach at USIM in the next agenda.
